What I'd like to know is if Christopher Lee is going to personalize? He'd better do so at £45! I know he kinda backed out on doing so for the OP signing (which made me all the more glad I didn't buy from them).

You aren't the only one who likes to know. I'm fearing for a Shatner though.

Here's what I don't understand. And I'm not referring to anybody on these boards. Mostly it's people on the LFCC forum.
There are people who scream that they just have to have a ticket and can they get in line once, twice, or more times because they have all this stuff they want signed. And when it's just one per person they are disappointed.
And then these same people get upset because they don't stop to talk, don't get pics made, and don't inscribe a quote.
It's the same way when Shatner showed up. He signed like the wind, but I think everybody that wanted one got one.
Which do you want? A 50% chance of getting one item signed by Lee inscribed? Or being almost assured in getting one, if not two items signed with his signature only?
The point is that there is only so many hours for this elderly gentleman to sign, and you can go one way or the other. If you think that since you are paying big $$$ then you daggone well ought to get the inscription, I feel your pain. But it's still about the number of hours in the day.
I do think though, that they should announce what he won't sign, and whether he will personalize, movie quote, etc. on the website before the con ever starts so you can make an informed decision about how you spend you money.

Mike, to give you an answer regarding myself: Lee at LFCC? Great! Fact that he MAY sign like Shatner: understandeable, everybody can get him this way. It still is a shame that he MAY not personalise or pose for pics.....but again: understandeable. He will very popular I think (understatement) the price: I don't have any problems with it as being high. Still, I don't think I will get him coz like I said before I already have him and I think 45GBP for something you already have....well....then it is kinda high If I hadn't had him, I would get him 100% for sure! Again; it would be different if I could have a posed photo, personalisation, quote etc....then; it would have added value. Just a sig doesn't add a thing to what I have. As for the LFCC forum: there's a lot of crap on it.....but also loads of good stuff.

Well, if I had a LOTR poster, then I would be happy to just get a fast sign to make sure I would be able to get one and pay the 45 lbs. It certainly would be understandable to ensure that everybody had a chance at the legend.
But for just an 8x10, I'd be more likely to pass if I knew he wouldn't even write To Mike on it. That's why I said that they need to let the fans know what it signing conditions would be, so they'd know whether to get up at 4 am or not.
Personally I'm not a big enough fan of LOTR or SW to even want Lee. But Ian McKellan was in X-Men...

I like to collect personalized photos, so if he''s not doing those I'm not going to get him. I'd probably get a much better looking autograph buying from his website. I get the point about Shatner, but really for most people getting a personalization is all the fun at a convention, otherwise we could just buy from catalogues.

The autographs on his website aren't personalized either. And in price it doesn't make a difference. So why not meet the legend himself instaid of clicking your mousebutton

Most likely the autograph are better since he doesn't have to rush them and if he's just signing there won't be much of meeting him either.

I think getting your own item signed instead of a standard 8x10 is worth extra. And sure you know the service is real, but there's nothing like getting it signed in front of you to make you feel secure about the sig.

I don't have him yet and buying it from a private signing or his website is about the same price. I'd rather want him to sign my photo in front of me and me being able to "meet" him if I'm paying 45 pounds anyway. There aren't many actors I would pay this much for by the way but he is a rare IP signer so I just have to. And as most people on here already know I don't care about personalisations. But I do think people should be able to get them for 45 pounds though. However: what was all this crap about, not being able to get Mark Hamill becasue he asked too much and they didn't want to go above the 25 pound tag?

OK, to make it clear: I won't be getting one from his website either. I'm just saying that personalizations normally is what sets the conventions apart.

However: what was all this crap about, not being able to get Mark Hamill becasue he asked too much and they didn't want to go above the 25 pound tag? My 2 cents is that they MAY have said that to cover themselves. Hamill wants a huge guarantee.....thats the whole problem. I don't know what Lee charges regarding appearance fee/guarantee, but I think it's less... Besides: Lee lives in the UK (London maybe?) so it's way cheaper for them to get him at the con for a few hours.

Yeah I know, but still...... It's a bit stupid to give that as an argument and then announce CL for 45 -_- ........
About personalisations: like I said, for 45 pounds you should get one if you want it. For me personally however it isn't an issue. I'll get him because I don't have him yet and would have to pay that amount for a private signing or his site anyway. So that's why I'm willing to pay this BUT only once. Once I got him I will not pay that amount again. If I had gotten CL in a private shindig before I wouldn't have gotten him at LFCC either.
