Season 1 arrived this morning! You have watched the miniseries first right? Without it it can become very confusing. The mini is somewhat slow for some people, not enough action but it helps you storywise, plotwise and characterwise to understand their motivations, history with each other etc.... Oeh Yeah! Epiphanies 2x13 was another great ep yesterday.

Not so fast my friend. The UK version came out first, and was available in the US as Region 1. It did NOT contain the mini series. The only other difference, was there was a different opening credits sequence.
The US version does indeed have the mini.
What was so surprising to me is that people over here were buying the UK version first because they had to have it as soon as possible, knowing that for near the same price they could wait and get the US version that had the mini.

Mike Well, I'm glad I was patient enough to wait for the US version (Although I really hate the boring miniseries )

Mike Yeah I didn't know he odered region 1, because at www.play.com you can get the mini AND season 1 for about 30 euros including shipping and it comes from the UK so no taxes/ customs etc... I have the miniseries (region 2) Season one UK Season 2.0 (region 1 USA version) Original series cylon head box and I'm thinking about ordering season 1 region 1 ;D Yes, you could say I'm a fanatic.

I'm waiting for a COMPLETE Season 2. All this commercial bullshit with bringing out 10 episodes just before Christmas. Waiting a whole year for Season one to come out INCLUDING the Miniseries also paid off. The UK version was twice as expensive, didn't have the Miniseries and had less extras. So I'm waiting till July/August/September for a complete Season two. Because you just know they'll first bring out part 2 of Season two, then wait a few months and bring out the whole Season again just before Season three starts (to promote it again)!

ok so far the new half second season is good but it has some dips. I mean what the hell was that ep called Blackmarket? It really showed that Jamie Bamber can't act much like Richard Hatch back in the days. I love Richard Hatch's work on the new show as Tom Zarek. He's one shifty MOFO ;D . So is it the character of Apollo that can't seem to interest me? Is he just to goody too shoes? Think it's a combination of both. Starbuck was and is way more interesting than Apollo. But I still think Bamber can't act although he's hot He can't carry an entire episode while the rest of the cast so far can. Thank the Lords of Kobol 2x15 Scar was way better and Sackhoff can act. I love character development but it makes ya wonder where the cylon plan went?

martinev, I know you said you were planning on going to the BSG con by Creation Entertainment. But I thought if you didn't know about Gatecon you might be interested. It's in July 2006 in Vancouver Canada. Guest list so far includes: Aaron Douglas - Chief Alonso Oyarzun - Specialist Socinus Kandyse McClure - Dualla Paul Campbell - Billy Richard Hatch - The Hatch Tahmoh Penikett - Helo timelessdestinations.com/I know creation always has the top cons and has Bamber scheduled, but if you were intested in seeing as many BSG cast as possible, you might want to consider this one. If you are more interested in seeing fewer big name cast, then stick with creation. Just a heads up... Mike

Thanks Mike but I was already aware of the convention. I was interested BUT did you look at the admission price? 250 dollars!!!!!! Dang................ And it doesn't even say wether or not the autographs are included (guess not). Concerning big names. Well I know Jamie Bamber was announced at Creation but he's actually the last actor I would like to see (and I already met him, sackhoff, hatch and this weekend Callis). I'd rather much prefer Hogan, Douglas, Penikett, MATTHEW BENNETT or someone else. It doesn't matter if they are "main" cast members or not, because in this show they all have enough stuff to do. I'm waiting on the announcements for the UK Battlestar convention before I make up my mind wether I'll go or not since I'm not going to travel half way around the world for peeps I already met or can meet here. But if you know of more BSG conventions please post the info.

m,
No prob. I'll ask a girl I know who went to the con last year and will go back this year about auto prices & ticket prices.
What's this about a UK BSG con? First I've heard of it. When would it be, and is it new series only?

m,
I found out that the $250 does NOT include a free signed pic of each guest. She says most all will sign your program for free, but that's not something I would be interested in.
She said last year, Hatch charged $20. I don't know if that's Canadian dollars or US dollars.
But she's probably going again this year, so I may end up sending her something to get signed for me.
