I have a NES (currently out of order though), a SNES (together with three siblings), SEGA Megadrive, N64, GC and Gameboy (the old bulky one). Am looking forward to Revolution, though the "remote control" controller is giving me some doubts...
favourite type of games: Mario-type platforms (the actual Mario games are the best) Zelda type RPG (Final Fantasy series is cool, especially the old SNES games)
For the rest, I own varied games, like two or three Star Wars games, a bunch of puzzle games for the GB and of course, the best game ever produced for the SNES, Mario Kart!

You've got a great taste in games! Zelda-games are the best! About the Revolution Remote: I think Nintendo got guts, and are very original to make that kind of a change to the controller we used to know! It's a great idea and I hope it works out great with the motion-sensor and all....

Thanks for the compliment yeah that's why I have doubts. Will it work as well as we all hope? Or will it turn out to make everyone shout "No, I was pointing up!" all the time? Oh well, I'll buy it anyway

according to someone at Nintendo the price of the console will be under € 200,- (when it comes out) and it's nog their intention to compete with the Playstation3 or XBox360. So it should be possible for somebody that has never played games to pick up the controller and play away, also for the hardcore gamer and the casual gamer.

So in other words it will be a kids machine like that cube they made. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, though I'll probably stick with the xbox then.

So in other words it will be a kids machine like that cube they made. Nothing wrong with that I suppose, though I'll probably stick with the xbox then. Words from Nintendo: It's a console that will be suitable for the beginning-gamer, casual-gamer and the hardcore-gamer. As we did see with the Gamecube, the image of that console started as 'kiddy' and slowly became more adult with games like Resident Evil 4 (one of the best games EVER if you ask me!), Splintercell 1, 2 and 3, True Crime 1 and 2, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Medal of Honor Soul Caliber 2 etc. etc. So I guess they will continue this with the Revolution but on a revolutionaire way with an all new gaming-expierence (I hope)!

After the NES and the Super Nintendo (SNES) I haven't been very impressed by the next gen machines Nintendo came up with. The Nintendo 64 was a major let down and the Gamecube did not become a very big success either. I was dying to see a fantastic GC version of Mario Kart with online play, it turned out to be a good game but nothing more. There was no real Mario platform game. Sunshine was, again, good but not a whole lot more. And I seriously dislike the GC controller. I am curious as to see what the Revolution will bring. The idea looks great. Nintendo has always been revolutionary in its new concepts to begin with. But like with the Virtual Reality Boy for example, it's not about the concept, it's about the end product, game support from third parties, and great games in general. And the Revolution has a lot to prove in my opinion.

I agree with almost everything you say, I have my doubts about the Rev.-controller as well, but I think Nintendo got guts to come with such a thing. And I think they will make the Revolution a very stylish and cool console to own. About N64 I say only these things: Mario 64, Goldeneye, Conker: Bad Fur Day, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark, Banjo and Kazooie, Banjo & Tooie: All timeless classics! The N64 did let me down with the graphics a bit, they were a bit blurry to me. But I also had a very great time with this console. I sold it unfortunately so I problably want to buy one back in the near future, same with the SNES. Sold that one too.

I agree with Bill, N64 has some awesome games! Some "blocky" graphics, true, but the games are great. All in all, we'll have to wait and see with the Rev. Definately worth a try in my opinion, if just to check out the controller!

Take a look: Yes, thats Indiana Jones & Raiders of the Lost Ark Recognize the Millennium Falcon? It's attacking the Death Star in Return of the Jedi Still....this is Atari 2600; an 8kb machine. Now, the G-7000 has got a cool 2,5kb memory.... Forget Frodo, this is 'Quest for the Rings', my alltime fave on the Philips console. Now, what did you say about 'blocky' ;D
