I mean that Mario has some sharp edges... *sigh* But I started out with the original first non-text version of Leisure Suit Larry, so don't talk to me about blocky. Anyone know the game Castle? It didn't really have graphics, just straight lines for walls, and typeset signs for characters and monsters. The "hero"was a club (as in a card club, not a club to hit you on the head with)... edit: I actually found it for download! It's called "castle adventure", and you can get it at www.dosgames.com/g_small.phpTry it for a laugh, it's soooo old!

Words from Nintendo: It's a console that will be suitable for the beginning-gamer, casual-gamer and the hardcore-gamer. As we did see with the Gamecube, the image of that console started as 'kiddy' and slowly became more adult with games like Resident Evil 4 (one of the best games EVER if you ask me!), Splintercell 1, 2 and 3, True Crime 1 and 2, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Medal of Honor Soul Caliber 2 etc. etc. So I guess they will continue this with the Revolution but on a revolutionaire way with an all new gaming-expierence (I hope)! Resident Evil 5 will be a Playstation 3/Xbox 360 game, not a Nintendo one. The simple fact is that Nintendo lacks the money to make a proper console to compete, so they won't even try (remember the original Xbox has thusfar made a loss of 2 milliard dollars). I haven't heard from any hardcore gamers that would prefer a gamecube, but I do know kids do and any shop selling consoles would say the same. Another telling fact is that Nintendo now is developing a lot of games for the other consoles, so they'll become more of a software seller than a hardware one.

I agree with Bill, N64 has some awesome games! Some "blocky" graphics, true, but the games are great. All in all, we'll have to wait and see with the Rev. Definately worth a try in my opinion, if just to check out the controller! To anyone used to consoles, the controller is weird and not that intuitive. It may grow on you, but the question is would you want to stick it out, just to play on a inferior console. The difference in quality is far greater than with the current cube vs xbox/playstation.

As far as the retro games go, the only ones I still can bear to play are ms Pacman (greatest game ever), Bomber Jack and Tetris.

Another telling fact is that Nintendo now is developing a lot of games for the other consoles, so they'll become more of a software seller than a hardware one. Well, that fact is not that telling at all if you consider that Nintendo is still the leading company on the handheld market where both hard- and software are selling like crazy. And not just for the relatively new DS system but also for the "older" hardware. Apart from that, Nintendo won't easily leave the console hardware business. They have a core market, they (still) have the name, they (still) have a solid reputation and their inhouse games (still) are very big money makers after all these years. Of course, it is logical that the success or either the lack of success of the Revolution will influence the business strategy for the future. Nintendo's current global GC market share will have to be improved on, but as to say that their future in console land is ending? Next we will be hearing again that Microsoft is making another attempt to buy Nintendo...

LOL! Too cool! But, it doesn't look actually playable. Or, not comfortably playable anyway. Did you try it out already?

LOL! Too cool! But, it doesn't look actually playable. Or, not comfortably playable anyway. Did you try it out already? Yes I did, it takes a bit to get used to the buttons-layout because it's different then a normal Gamecube-controller, but the chainsaw is very playable. It works great, but it is especially designed to play with Resident Evil 4 (if you haven't allready then go and buy it!! It is one of the best games EVER!!) so it works best with that game. I played Animal Crossing with it and in the beginning it wasn't going to well, but after a while it played allright. But I'm going to finish Resident Evil 4 (for the 6th time) with it to get the feeling where the controller was designed for in the first place... I had read that the controller makes chainsaw-sounds as well, but mine didn't and I did a little search on the internet about this but couldn't find anything about this. So I guess there's no sound, only rumble.

May 15, 2006: A DAY TO REMEMBER... This day marks the release of an all new 2D Mario adventure! Since the last one (almost 15 years ago) there hasn't been any... Untill now: THE NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. has hit the stores!! May 18, 2006 (today): I get home from work, have some dinner, relax for a bit and then I'm checking my email. An email has arrived of gamestore C-Square in Breda saying my pre-ordered game "The New Super Mario Bros." is in. The next following minute I looked like this: I called Daan (girlfriend, who also pre-ordered the game) and she said "I'll get it this saturday for us". So I said: Cool! I went online with MSN like I usually do, but one second after I came online the phone rings... It's my Daan again. "Let's get it tonight" she says. And within 9 minutes I arrived at Daan's place (for those who have me on MSN: That's the reason I went offline so quickly ). So finally I have it, the all new Mario Bros. An all new adventure with some formiliar happenings! So since I am a HUGE NES-Mario Bros (Nintendo in general) fan you can imagine that I'm a happy camper right now ;D Well, gotta play Mario again, see ya!
