Phil Brown, best known for his role as Uncle Owen in Star Wars: A New Hope, passed away today at the age of 89. He had a long and varied career almost 60 years long. You can check out his accomplishments at IMDB.com, where you might be surprised to see how many other recognizable films he appeared in

Wow. Although this was coming for such a long time now considering his bad health the last couple of years, it still comes as a surprise. After Sheard, Hollis, Boa and Diamond the Star Wars but especially the general movie community has lost a true legend. A lovely, kind man with a wonderful and truly interesting personal history. Rest in peace!
