I don't mean this to offend anyone; but I would feel 'funny/weird' if I'd ask for an autograph of a kid who is 12 years old. What are your opinions on this? I'd feel weird too. Besides that I really feel kids shouldn't have to do that. Let them grow up normal already. Actually she was quite enjoying herself and showing of her dress. And I do agree with you but on the other hand... They are starring in multi million dolar productions, meet famous people and travel all over the world at such a young age. Their childhood IS different from many other kids. But like I said. I do feel weird of getting sigs from kids and I'm not that bothered by them actually so I don't think I'll have many more in the future (my two were the circumstances) Although........ Hmmm I wonder if the one year old baby who plays Hera/ Isis on BSG already can hold a pen ;D

Well it is, even though you don't find the work too hard. But that wasn't my point really, it was more for the fact he stated we were all kids once too, which has nothing to do with that. Even though we were all kids too, we were also different then.

I would perhaps feel weird about getting a little kids autograph in person, but not TTM. And be on record as writing to little kids? I guess you never watch Law and Order then... So we can bring back child labour again too, since all workers were kids once too. I've watched Law and Order... I've allso watched V - the series, but don't espect UFO's with mouseeating lizards in human skin on them anytime soon either. We are not talking about writing them on their home address, but through their agency. If people was concerned about this you wouldn't have got anything signed, and the fanmail wouldn't have been forwarded to her either. Child labour? Aren't we going way overboard here? My point was that I would be happy to have a signature from famous people no matter which time in their life it was signed. If you've read anything else into it, you've got it all wrong.

Well I'm assuming, but I bet there are safeguards in place for fanmail that goes to kids. That either the studio or the parents go through it first to make sure they aren't being hunted down by child predators or other weirdos.
If the child actors don't want the mail, or they get more mail than they can handle, they can always forward it to studio fan mail.
I guess my point is that if they want the attention, they will enjoy the fan mail. If they don't, then they can have the studio or studio fan mail take it so they don't have to deal with it.

I'm wonder if we will find out in 18 years or so the kid's name? I'd bet there would be more than one though. Those would be a real noobs for a convention...
One of the biggest problems I've had for the original BSG is that the kids in that series often leave the business right after, and are near impossible to track down sometimes.
That's exactly right. Seeing Dakota in public on tv, she does seem to enjoy the attention.
And for the record, I enjoyed watching her in Saryon.

If you've read anything else into it, you've got it all wrong. Point taken, but you're overstating my point too. All I'm saying is that just because we all were kids too has nothing to do with it. There is a difference between kids and adults and the way we should treat them. As for the worth of the autograph probably Hitchcocks is worth more as and adult filming, whereas Dakota's probably as a kid, provided she doesn't grow up to be a great actress in adult life. As for the original question, so I personally don't feel comfortable asking kids for an autograph, nor am I particulary interested in them. If you do feel comfortable, please do. In the end the responsibility for their privacy lies with the parents/caretakers of the child.

All I know is that I sure wouldn't have mind having Heather O'Rourke's autograph (Carol Anne from Poltergeist). She was sadly not around long enough for me ever to obtain her autograph.
Would I have wanted Linda Blair's autograph when she did The Excorcist? Would I have wanted Drew Barrymore's autograph when she did E.T. Or Jake LLoyd, Haley Joel Osment.... Sure I would. I don't see the point of waiting for them to "grow" up. Mabybe then it's to late. Or you will miss out for some reason.
It seems like poeple feel different about this topic, and they sure are entitled too. But I don't think there is a right or wrong. Do what you feel is best. After all it's your collection and you are entitled to deiced what's to be in it.
