Today, as a pressmember I was invited to attend the ATMOSFERE SPAZIALI expo about the works of CARLO RAMBALDI (E.T.s maker, Alien, Dune, King Kong) Along with MAD it became one hell of a day... In short (full report will follow) -We both got interviewed! televisie.rtvwest.nl/archief/programma_overzicht?id=2Click: TV West Nieuws van 05-04-2007 You can see us after 7+ minutes -enjoyed a speech + presentation! -Interviewed the legend. One hell of an experience, given the fact that he rarely appears somewhere....and his sig is rare as hell. Some pix to start with Maestro Rambaldi & me the 3 Oscars he won (King Kong, Alien, E.T.) the original E.T.! De maestro sketches E.T. Rambaldi opens the expo the 2 sigs I got.... It was nice to meet the creator of ET and Alien. I had hoped he also was responsible for making the Imperious Leader in BSG, but he didn't recognize it as his work. For years everybody thought he had made it, but it wasn't so. Lucky for me Dennis had some extra ET photos so I could get one signed (I only had brought Imperious Leader photos). But as Dennis said, it was difficult to even get anything signed. I think we were really lucky since I saw him sign like 10 items. This is INCLUDING 2 for Dennis and 1 for me. The man was pulled on all sides and the 2 minutes we both talked to him was barely enough to do three questions and the signing of the items. But meeting the man was cool and seeing the original sketches for ET was awesome (including the imagined bonestructure and possible ways for him to move with that bonestructure and muscles.) Also the mechanics for the mouth of Alien were on display. Nice day, but too bad he didn't design the Imperious Leader.
