Further more, I am curious why she wears a high altitude outfit when she's in a helicopter.? Now that I am finally caught up with the series, I can now read this thread! Yeah, I totally agree with you on that Marko. As someone who's in the Air Force, this is something that really irked me. Sure, our Special Operation helo crews wear oxygen masks in Afghanistan due to the high altitude, but clearly this isn't the case. The next obvious answer is to obscure her real identity till they finally bring her down, because up until then, we all assume she's Desmond's girlfriend. My other big gripe is that SAR helos aren't equipped with parachutes! (Well, at least the ones I've flown in)

Nice backstory with Charlie. I really felt that he was going to die. I was surprised that he belted Desmond with the oar though. And immediately as soon as Charlie surfaced and there was air, I KNEW that there were people in the Looking Glass. Very happy to see Rose and Bernard after all this time! Nice to see an answer about why the cable goes out into the ocean. Significance of the DS ring.
Previews for next week show Bernard, Sayid, and Jin tied up with guns trained on them and the somebody saying to kill them. Desmond goes to the looking glass and has a weapon. The rest of the survivors going to the tower are met there by Ben. It's a two hour finale.
There was a one hour Lost special on last night. Executive Producer and Creators Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof were supposed to be providing "answers" for the show up to now. There were only two things they mentioned that I didn't know. One was that Jack's dad, the horse Kate saw, whoever Hugo saw were manifestastions caused by the black smoke on the island. The second was that the cages Jack, Sawyer, and Kate were in were originally cages for the Dahrma people to study the polar bears. Though Mr. Friendly did tell Sawyer after he got his fish biscuit that it took the bears less time than he did.
Lindelof did say "We know people think that they are in purgatory, but as we've both said publicly in the past, that isn't the case. They are alive and well on the island". So what's the deal with them finding the crashed plane?

Nice backstory with Charlie. I really felt that he was going to die. I was surprised that he belted Desmond with the oar though. I was a little disappointed with that because it was so poorly executed in the way Charlie hit Desmond. He should of hit Desmond when he turned around to get the weights when he would of had a better chance of knocking him out, instead he waits until Desmond turns fully around looking at him. Unfortunately for me, I will not be able to see the season finale until a month later due to the Air Force.

I loved the episode, they really build up the tension and I am glad Charlie didn't die again If there's one person I hope he makes the final it's him with claire and the baby. I also liked the backstory about charlie, the whole ring thing seems like a goof at Dom's LoTR past

Flash Forward??? Well we know they get off the island. But how come Jack says "bring my father down here, and if I'm drunker than he is, you can fire me?" How is his dad alive???
What I could read from the paper clipping was "Man found" and then underneath it said "downtown". I'm guessing somebody from the island died, and that's why Jack went to the viewing. When Jack asks Kate if she went and she was like no way, I assumed it was Sawyer. But when she said she had to get back to "him", I assume she ended up with Sawyer. But then who's in the casket that Kate wouldn't even go see? And who would die and nobody go to the viewing? Locke? Ben?
I wonder how Locke got out of the pit. Two episodes ago it sounded like he had blood in one of his lungs. I thought the gun didn't have bullets, since Sawyer told him that if the gun had bullets, he wouldn't have threatened him with the knife. But I guess a different gun.
LOVED to see Hugo save the day, after Charlie and then Sawyer wouldn't let him help. I really didn't think they shot Bernard/Sayid/Jin.
I was wondering why Charlie didn't just dive in the pool and swim out, but that was part of Desmond's vision. If he drowns after pulling the lever, then Claire gets off the island on the helicopter. I didn't think patch was really dead, but was amazed when he pulled the handle on the hand grenade.
So they said 5 deaths in the last 5 episodes. Only one death in the previous four. But I count all 10 others that went to kidnap the moms (hated to see Tom/Mr. Happy die, after he had a change of heart and didn't kill the three), the 2 on the station, patch, and Charlie. That makes 15.
So if Penny didn't send the rescue ship, then how did what's her name from the helicopter have a picture of Desmond/Penny, why were they looking for Desmond, and how did she know he was on that island? Did Penny's father send them to look for him?
And I guess they never found Charlie's ring in the crib...

Just watched these at work and im still like .. wow. First, very emotional moment with Desmond and Charlie, why the hell did he wanted to leave that show :/ Second, why are we so sure they are rescued off the island ? I mean I haven't seen them being picked up by helicopters ? (or am i wrong, watched it streaming, maybe the eps were not complete) Everyone is talking about flash-forward now, I mean are we sure it is flash forward ?" Nice to see Walt back for a flash as well Lock gets wirder by the episode, I still think he knows more then he's telling. Now, a looooooooong wait till next season

I would have thought there would be more people posting about the finale.
Next episode won't be till February 2008.
It's funny how Lost is changing television. People were griping about all the repeats. So the execs decided to just have a break and then do the remaining season all new episodes. Which backfired, since a LOT of people lost interest and the show lost viewers big time. So now they are thinking (not for Lost though) to do 30 episode seasons to keep reruns down to a minimum.

With LOST it's just the opposite: 3 seasons of 16 episodes each.
The seasonfinal-ending I was all like: WHAT THE...!? Jack and Kate? What's up with them? I know Kate is Jack's half-sister, but what the hell... Jack WANTED the plain to crash?
Can't wait for season 4...

I know Claire and Jack are half brother/sister, but not Kate.
I don't think Jack wanted the plane to crash initially, but he wants to go back to the island and rides planes just hoping that they will crash. There's that one scene where he's got all the maps laid out in his room. He can't find the island...
We don't know what will happen in the future that makes Jack want to be with Kate and cause him to want to return to the island.
I kind of like the fast forwards. I was getting sick of all the back stories that give you information on why the characters are the way they are on the island. Now they will do flash forwards and now we'll try to figure out what will happen on the island to cause them to act the way they do in the future.
