Update:
They have pushed back shooting until April 3rd. They are shooting stadium scenes in Atlanta, and they interviewed people for extras at a basketball game. So the odds of me being a part of it just sank.
But you never know. And I'll still be going to Huntington to see if I can score some sigs...

Well I just got back. All that happened was they gave me a sheet which asked for information, and took my picture. That's it. The only person there was the "extras casting director" and he ONLY took pics.
They did students from 3-6 and nonstudents 6-8. I left at 4pm, and there wasn't anybody else in line. I asked the woman up front, and she said a little over 300 students applied.
Bad news is my age (34) and short hair. But one of the questions on the form was did you have any experience as a paramedic, firefighter, football player, cheerleader, or marching band.
Well I have a ton of marching bad experience. I did it at Marshall for 3 years, and a different college for more. Plus percussion ensemble, jazz band, theatre orchestra.
So I guess it will come down to if they need somebody in the band bad enough to pick me.
The down side if I get picked, is the extras sheet they gave us said "Do NOT approach the actors for autographs" "Do NOT bring a camera" "Do NOT approach the actors"
So if I'm in, I can't bring 8x10's with me. But if I only work some days, I can see what time the actors get there and from where, if they leave for lunch, and when and where they leave. So theoretically I could come back on a day I'm not doing the shoot and know where to go.
But that's a big what if. Odds are against me being in it. If I'm not, that still gives me a lot more time to hang out around where they are shooting with 8x10's in hand just waiting to go to the Netherlands.
Start date as of today is still April 3rd. The handout said they would call between March 27 and April 20th if they picked us.

Just heard that 550 students + 1400 nonstudents applied in total. They believe they need 1,000 for the movie.

Especially for Mike, this message from lost-media.com:
Casting call for Marshall movie set for Thursday Want to see your face on the big screen?
Patrick Ingram, local extra casting director for the Warner Bros. Pictures movie "We Are ... Marshall," will be on Marshall University's campus Thursday, March 16, to visit with potential extras for the movie.
The open casting session will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.
"We are seeking men and women 18 and over, and a few children ages 5 and up," Ingram said in a prepared release. "This film is set in 1970 and 1971 so clothes and hairstyles were very different than today. Men who are interested should not cut their hair or shave until they are contacted. This will help our hair and makeup departments to be able to style everyone to have that 1970 look."
Pam Haynes, with the West Virginia Film Office, said the title of the movie has been confirmed by Warner Bros. as "We Are ... Marshall."
"There is a special ring to that," Haynes said. "Their battle cry is now a major motion picture film title."
Haynes said extras are considered non-speaking roles, but for those fans who truly want to be a part of the film, it might not matter.
"They would essentially show up and have long days of boredom," Haynes said. "But so many people want to be involved because they have been touched by this tragedy."
Extras chosen for the movie will be contacted between March 27 and April 17.
The film's cast already includes actors Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Fox, David Strathairn, Anthony Mackie and Kate Mara.
