Gang, They are shooting a movie about the 1970's plane crash that killed 30 of the Marshall University (American) football team. Matthew McConaughey is starring as the Marshall football coach. They are filming parts of it in Huntington, WV, where I went to college and not too far away. Shooting starts in March, and if I knew when he was going to be in Huntington, I'd sure be there with pics in hand. There will be a couple movie premieres in West Virginia, though I don't know if he will be there. You guys have any ideas to find out when someone will be at a certain location to film? I ask because several of you know the filmset addresses to mail auto requests. Mike

Just announced. Some guy named Matthew Fox will also be starring in this movie. They will be filming on location here in Huntington for three weeks starting March 20th. Some parts of the movie will be closed to the public, but some open. The trick is to figure out which is which...and to see if I can get to be an extra (I am currently a Marshall University graduate student, so it should help)...and to see if I can get a poster signed... I hear that all of Fox's fanmail goes to a company that mails out preprints, so I wouldn't be too worried about getting the movie set address.

Next actor announced: David Strathairn He is nominated for an Academy Award for his role of Edward R., Morrow in the film "Good Night and Good Luck." He was also in L.A. Confidential, and did a few episodes of the Sopranos, and several other movies, but the only thing I remember him from was as Eddie Cicotte in the movie Eight Men Out (1988) about the baseball team Chicago White Sox when they threw the game.

Well, they are shooting on a college campus for three weeks. And in my opinion, there is only one hotel that is worth them staying at. Being an extra or not, I plan on being there as long as it takes. I'm taking a stack of pics with me. Of couse at events like that, it's all hit or miss. I'd be devastated if I came up empty.
There are other people ahead of you, but I'll let you know if I get extra sigs.
Somebody around here hooked up a Fox via a dealer. Did you try going that route?

Somebody around here hooked up a Fox via a dealer. Did you try going that route? Mike Yeah I know, but buying from a dealer is always my last option I want to go with. I rather obtain it IP, TTM or by someone else who got it IP, TTM. It gives the autograph something extra then to just buy it, if you know what I mean. But then again, lets say you do get one of him on a "Lost" 8x10, I won't hesitate to pay for it, cause I know how you got it ps. If they start filming, and you know the hotel they are staying, would you mind sharing the addy ? Might worth a try

marko,
I know what you mean. It would mean more if you got it from somebody you knew, and they could tell you when and where they got it. Of course there's always the possibility the somebody you knew could screw you over, (as Bill would say you didn't see it get signed in either case) but when you can't get it in person yourself, then you do the best you can.
The hotel idea isn't a bad thought, though with his track record it's a small chance. I'm not 100% on the hotel, but I think it's more than likely. If you want to wait, I might be able to find out for sure during shooting. Of couse I don't know if he will be there all three weeks, and it takes 5-10 days to get an envelope from there to here.

I agree with you partially: Take someone like.....Al Pacino for instance. He doesn't sign TTM (well...his poolboy does!); so, when you get something back it's 99,9999999 a fake. When you buy his sig from someone like Al Wittnebert (founder of the UACC, wellknown collector) chances that you are a fake are 'pretty slim' Regarding someone like, say: Jeremy Bulloch, it's a whole different story and I agree with you.

I agree, but let's say I have the option of buying that Pacino from a trusty dealer who got it IP or I can buy it from one of you peeps here who got it while attending a premiere or whatever. It "feels" more "real", dunno how to explain it exactly, but I hope you get my point. With the last option, it also is a trust issues, since I don't "know" any of you besides this board, but then again, I do trust you, cause we share the same hobby.
